Samsung likes to keep us guessing as to when the One UI 7.0 beta program will launch, but that's not stopping leaks. We have already seen many leaked screenshots detailing the new user interface changes. Some One UI 7.0 apps are also now available for download.
Another leak has now surfaced via @tarunvats33 which gives us a good idea of how the company is reinventing the lock screen with its upcoming major software upgrade. There are new customization options that users who like to personalize their phone will appreciate.
A UI 7.0 reimagines what a lock screen can be.
You can see new pill-sized widgets on the lock screen that show the weather and the battery status of connected devices, such as the Galaxy Watch. There may be other widgets as well. Previous leaks have revealed a Live Activities UI component whereby these widgets dynamically update based on the task being performed.
There are additional customization options for the clock on the lock screen. All this is done in the new design language that Samsung is introducing with One UI 7.0. This indicates that it will be possible to personalize the watch with the ability to change different colors, font styles and sizes.
Samsung mentioned during SDC 2024 last month that One UI 7.0 is being rebuilt from the ground up and you can see a significant change in design language compared to the current iteration of One UI. Details about the new animations were leaked, and the customizable quick panel also confirms it.
It's unclear when Samsung plans to launch the One UI 7.0 beta program. A rumored roadmap suggests that the first beta build could be released as early as next week with the stable version being released around February next year.
